For the fast and smooth immigration formalities upon arrival, travellers wishing to enter Thailand need to apply for a visa in advance from the Royal Thai Embassy or the Royal Thai Consulate General in the country of their residence.

Visa types
Requirements for visa application to Thailand
- Holding passport or travel document with a validity not less than 6 months
- Proof of outbound arrangement from Thailand, e.g. air ticket and visa or proof of ability to return to country of residence, or proof of ability to travel to another country (in case of transit)
- Must not fall into any categories prohibited from entering Thailand as stated in the Immigration Act B.E. 2522
- Having sufficient fund to stay in Thailand (at least 20,000 Baht)
